“No school, but why?”, the kiddos asked in unison. “Veterans Day” is the second Monday in the month of November. It is a national holiday. We recognize the men and women who have chosen to join the Armed Forces to defend and represent our country.
In celebration of Veterans Day, this post and offer is in honor of my Dad. He served 20 years of service in the Marine Corps. I’m offering my “Honoring Those Who Served” Activity packet FREE.
As an overview, here is a list of the topics and activities in the packet.
My kiddos really enjoyed the Family Response Form Activity. It opens the discussion of Veterans for the home connection. The kiddos were amazed at the responses on their forms. Furthermore, they were surprised at how many family members had served or were presently serving in one of the Armed Forces. The kiddos shared their information with their classmates in a lively discussion . The activity packet includes an opportunity to graph the responses and discuss the results of the graph. For example, which Branch of the Armed Forces was represented the most? In addition, which branch wasn’t represented?
By comparison, here are the main links to continue your study of the Branches of our Armed Forces:
- United States Marine Corps
- United States Army
- United States Navy
- United States Air Force
- United States Coast Guard
Lastly, email me at pengtchr299@gmail.com to request the packet of activities. Your information will be secure. I would love to receive pics of your kiddos completed assignments. Please share with your educational buddies. FREE is good. 😉
Fondly,
