“The information my kiddo’s teachers are sharing is confusing!”
“How do I help improve my kiddo’s Reading or Math skills!”
“I have no idea where to start!”
“I surrender!”
“Help!”
Tutoring equals individualized assessments, activities and games for your
Kiddo at the Iceberg!

Tutoring equals Individualized Assessments
Our tutoring starting point will be Individualized Assessments to get to know your kiddo. It’s critical that you share the assessments and documentation you’ve received from your kiddo’s teachers and staff. I will analyze the reports and their observational notes. This data will be the beginning guide in creating individualized Reading and Math assessments for your kiddo.
For assessing, I like to prepare three levels of assessments: high, medium, and low. Sometimes, the school’s shared information can be misleading. Your kiddo had a rough day when the test was given. Or maybe your kiddo misunderstood the directions. There are so many factors that can effect the outcome of a kiddo’s assessment scores.
After all, my focus will be to combine the provided information and results from my individualized assessments . This the foundation for my Lesson Plans for our sessions. My goal is for growth in your kiddo’s confidence and success.

Tutoring equals Individualized Activities
Secondly, tutoring individualized activities are designed focused on your kiddo’s interest. I like to include their favorite animated or real characters. They get excited seeing their “friends” as part of their work. Then, the activity doesn’t seem like work, but something fun to do.

For this kiddo, anything related to Dr. Seuss brought excitement.
For this kiddo,
anything Pink or with
Unicorns was exciting.

Furthermore, I closely watch the pacing of the content for each of our work sessions. I will go “with the flow” of your kiddo’s mindset in any particular session.
For example, sometimes you have to build snow, grass, and mud. (LOL) Then, you can build the given quantities of cubes.

At various times, I will send home individualized games or activities for your kiddo to “teach” you. It’s such a confidence builder for them: “I know how to play this game and they don’t know. I can teach them.”

Tutoring equals Individualized Growth
Finally, throughout our collaboration, I will periodically share with you the spectrum of your kiddo’s Grade Level Objectives /Benchmarks. We will discuss the skills mastered and those skills that need development. I find it helps to include your kiddo in the discussion of this information. I believe it builds their confidence and understanding. Suddenly, they become “owners” of their learning when they join in determining the future goals for activities.
For me, the Benchmarks are an example of a structure with many steps to climb. We will discuss what “step” your kiddo is on. Secondly, we will decide if steps need rebuilding. Then, we can climb ahead. True growth can only happen if your kiddo is standing on strong steps. Obviously, our goal is for their growth to be lasting and not temporary.

Lastly, I typically conduct the sessions in my home office. There are less distractions for individualized, assessments, and activities.
At the completion of our session, the payment options are cash, check, Venmo CashApp, or Paypal.
